Normalize bug

Drag the end of an event so the event is repeated an integral number of times (the Loop switch should be on). Use the Normalize switch. The event is silent.

This seems to apply to all files regardless of the bit depth, sample rate and number of channels.

I tried this on a win98 SE machine and could not repro this. I opened a loop, set the properties to "Loop", extended the loop, so that it repeated 10 times and then did the "normalize" switch. Is this the similar process you did? BTW, I set my properties in PREFERENCES>EDITING to not loop the events by default option, not sure if this makes a difference.

Hold on!!!!...just checked this one more time, before finishing my post. If you have the "loop events by default" option checked and then do this same thing, it does indeed mute the looped event when you normalize.

Buzzzzzzzzz...think you found a bug.

Thanks for the verification.

I've not found that the status of 'Enable looping on events by default' makes a difference but there does seem to be some unpredictability anyway: Windows Media files for example, appear to be more likely to be normalized as expected.
