Not able to render project

To all VV users,

I need some major help. I am not able to render any projects that are of any significant size. What I am experiencing is, VV experiences an error and stops the rendering process, or my system resets itself automatically and reboots. This is happening to me, every single time now.

Why would this happen?

I have tried using .mpeg 1, mpeg 2, avi, and .mov files and they have all experienced this.

My system is a Athalon XP 1900, 256 MB DD Ram, Windows XP. I was also experiencing this on 98 SE. This problem just came up, after a about 9 months of everthing working fine.

Any thoughts?

Chad

I have a similar system... Vegas works fine.

Have you installed any new software or any of those damn $#$%^ Windows updates recently? I recently had allowed Windows to installed one of their automated Windows patches and true to Microsoft's history of constant bungleing, doing so messed up my system where it kept saying application such and such was no longer responding, (almost all my applications) resulting in a hang needing a cold reboot or trying to start any application from the task bar tray was very problemamatical at best until I removed several of the latest Microsoft patches.

Expecting Microsoft to ever get its act together is as hopeful as Saddam being appointed to Bush's cabinet. It ain't going to happen.

Sadly, when I first installed Windows XP it was rock solid, and now with SP1 and several patches it is rapidly becoming as unstable as all other Microsoft OS's have been.

BillyBoy,

Thanks for the feedback. I have made some success in my efforts. I was reading a posting that prompted me to swap out my video card. I am happy to say that everything about VV is perfect again.

I previously had a Geforce 4 card from MSI, I am not sure, but I switched in a old Vanta processor card and everything is working good. I have also had good like previously witha Geforce 2 card.

Hope this helps others.
