Not recognizing my burner

CD Architech does not recognize my HP8100 cd-burner.I have tried the alternate generic "ATAPI MMC compatable" as recommended by the website and when I choose the IDE that is correct from the pull down the next window DOES see and allows me to select my HP burner then I click OK and when I go to "Wite Audio" it again prompts me to select a compatable cd-burner showing only "Sonic Foundry CDR simulator" in the device window.I am trying to put in seemless track breaks into a live recording and burn it. I need help on the steps.I'm told that I can save the file and then just use my HP software to burn.Is this true?, Or Do I have to use the CD Architech to burn?If I don't have to use it for burning do I save my file to WAV or CDP? My HP does not recognize CDP format. With respect to laying in track breaks:I have followed the help files topic"Inserting tracks/indices in the middle of regions" and it does put in the tracks but I'm thinking there is one more step or something that I've missed for when I save it to WAV and play it back ( say on Winamp)it is again one large WAV with no breaks. Will this software let me use my HP8100 burner(which the website says is supported) and can I edit with CD-Arch and then burn with my HP? I would appreciate any answers or attempts and will gladly try them all. Thanks in advance!

If your burner is not being recognized by CD Architect, here are a couple options:

1) Use CD Architect to place track markers in your live recording. Save as .CDP project. Download Colin's CDPBurn app from http://projecteva.net/index.shtml and see if that works for you. Colin wrote it specifically to burn CD Architect projects

2) It is possible to save your CD Architect project as an Image which is one big .WAV file with embedded PQ track info, but I don't know if apps other than CD Architect can utilize the embedded info or if they simply discard it. I suspect the latter.

3) Instead of using CD Architect, use SoundForge to drop in Markers at your desired track breaks. Then convert Markers to Regions (located in the Regions List submenu). Then Extract Regions to seperate .WAV files. Then import these .WAV files into the app supplied with your CD Burner, specify a 0 second gap between each track, and burn as DAO for best results. Do not overcook. Makes 8 servings.

Option 1 would be the much easier option if CD is desired. But Option 3 would be useful if you want to make .MP3's of the live show as well.
