Not to be a PITA but...

...any ideas why I can't cut a clip from an 8c project and paste into VP9 trial? It does put a blue line showing the duration of the clip I tried to paste but it seems there's no clip. I uploaded a snippet of the blue line here:

BTW, sorry for not providing a clickable link but I'm not sure how but I will try to find out.

Thanks very much,
Randy

How did you do it? I open both projects in two Vegas instances, select the event in project A, alt-tab to project B, select the track where I want the event to be dropped and hit CTRL-V to paste. (If it's on the timeline, it's an event - not a clip).

Basically the same, select in project A (8c), hit ctrl c or ctrl x and in project B (VP9 trial) I place cursor on track I want and hit ctrl v.
Thanks Steve,
Randy

Sounds very odd.

Do you get the same result if you drag the original clip from Explorer to the timeline?

Randy, I just tried this and it seemed to work fine. I opened VP9 and then opened VP8. I added a different clip to each timeline. In VP8, I selected that event and did a CTRL-C. I went back to VP9, moved the cursor, hit CTRL-V and that event was added to the timeline.

One thing to remember, VP8 MUST remain open. If you close it, the clipboard will be cleared and nothing will paste.

I just tried it again to see if it was a fluke (like the split selection thing I posted about earlier) but it still doesn't work.
I've had several more random crashes (where the automated thing asks what I was doing when the crash happened and then closes). I wonder if something went wrong with the installation.

Yessir it remained open every time I tried it...thanks Edward.
