Nothing happening!

Every so often, when I try to play through my Sony Vegas 10 project, nothing happens. Whether I try to play from the beginning of the project or from the point where I have been editing there is no response at all. The music doesn't play and the pictures do not move from one to another. If I close the program and re-open it, everything is OK but it seems a bit drastic to have to do this. Is there a simple explanation?

What operating system are you running, how fast is your processor and how much RAM do you have?

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it?

What Project Properties is your Vegas project set to?

I'm using Vista and have 4 MG RAM. All my pictures are still JPEGS and I've set the properties by selecting one of these.

Have you resized your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels at 72 ppi?

This makes it much easier for the program to work with them and yet still provides plenty of resolution for creating a Pan/Crop motion path over the photos.

No, not tried that. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll give it a go.
