Noticing lag when multi-tracking-AUDIO

NSYNC_Fan wrote on 8/28/2000, 3:39 AM
Have been recording with Vegas since its inception. Have
used up to 26 tracks at once, but never seperated my music
tracks until now. Using a Korg Triton and decided to test
Vegas. I have done a song on the keyboard that is 14 tracks
full of mind-blowing music ( at least I think ) and have
not done any vocals yet. Added some of effects to 3 of the
tracks and my system meter bar is bouncing like a stripper
on center stage (up to 90%)...My question is how are you,
the masses, doing this if similar situation, and what are
you running on your PC and what hardware do you have?

My System:

AMD K6-2 400 196 MB
4 gig OS drive, 17 gig audio drive
Delta 66 PCI Audio card
Soundblaster CDRW
48x CD-Rom
8meg AGP video
Nic card ( for cable modem )
Mansonic Board

Thanks in advance.

Hey NSync,

I was wondering what type of lag problems UR having with Vegas 2.0.

Here is my problem:
Right now i have a mix...where most of the songs only overlap 2 mix
with each other. My vegas plays the files fine if I just let it sit
there and play....but once I start moving the mouse around 2
adjust the screen, or messing with other programs, it starts pausing,
skipping...acting like my computer is not fast enough 2 handle it. I
wasn't having this problem with Vegas 1.0 at all...I was able 2 do so
much other stuff while playing my files, without a glitch.

I'm curious 2 know because my system is very similar 2 urs...

AMD k6-2 400MHz, 128mb

13gig OS DRIVE, 27gig Audio drive(both 7200rpm)

>>Delta 66 PCI Audio card
Sound Blaster PCI 128

8mp AGP ATI Video

Let me know.....
thanks

I have a lot of troubles when I am doing things where video is
affected, like : scrolling, zooming, sometimes just clicking the
mouse...

I am using a matrox G400, and wonder if I should turn the buss
mastering off on it

26 tracks with a K6-2 400 mhz? Damn this program is efficient! Get
a bx chipset mobo (MSI BX-Master is the best) a Celeron II 566 (you
can happily clock this to 850 or more)and up your memory to 256 mb.
The stripper will stay dressed.
