Novice question about s-video

I am attemping to make a regular VHS tape using the S-Video connection for better picture quality as your forum suggested. I have the 5 pin connected from my camera to my VCR S-in and my audio plug connected. The audio is working as usual but no picture. Please tell me what I am apparantly doing wrong.

You probably need to go into your VCR menu and make sure you've set your input to S-Video. If you haven't it's expecting composite input and not using S-Video. In my case you can feed a signal into the front and the back, so make sure you've got the proper one set to S-Video and suddenly you'll see a picture!
