Well.....to clarify, part of the delay, and frankly, the entire delay was our fault for not taking care of some business during pre-production. But it was indeed not something we could have controlled. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but I don't think I could listen to me talking about sound for 5+ hours. :-)

No one ever likes to see or hear him/herself. That is, unless you're some kind of uber actor/ maniacal jackass.
But, I just got done with the Hollywood Camerawork DVD series, which was around 9 hours. So long as there's good info, the more the better.
I'm sure it's going to be great and thanks for making it!

Is this for audio with video only, or does it also include multi-track audio-only mixing tips?

(if it doesn't, that's fine, but I for one would love to see a DVD on mixing / mastering.)

Yes.

Peter, there is a little on multi-track recording, but it's mostly a recording/editing/monitoring/processing of all audio. In other words, the process for recording one channel is little different than recording for multiple channels, and the editing/processing for multiple channels is no different than a single channel.
I do have multiple channels in the mix, and talk about mix levels and setting up mixes, but all things considered, it's definitely not a major point in the DVD. We'll be doing one on multiple channel mixes and recordings this quarter as well.
You can see a full list of topics, and watch three different sample streams at

Spot,

I'm really interested in getting this. Do you cover audio sweetening for film, etc? it'd be great if you can somehow post a table of content or something. Thanks.

There is a table of contents on the VASST page related to this product.
http://www.vasst.com/dvdproducts/nht-sound.htm
It's no where near complete, as it's a 5+ hour, 2 DVD9 set. There is a little talk on film sweetening, but the majority is mics, mic techniques, acquisition, tools, editing, monitors, some mixing, noise reduction, EQ's, compressors, cutting tips for editing, (how to cut on dialog properly) and so forth.
This is far from the last DVD on this subject, we'll take the feedback from this one and set up the remainder of the next one. We've already got 2 more hours edited that almost came as part of this set.

Just got mine today. Ordered early monday morning (around 2am) and paid for the 2 day shipping. Got basically 1 day shipping, which is really cool. Can't wait to get into it and keep them coming, Spot!!

I still haven't seen the final product yet. They arrived while we were at NAMM, but we only had 10 "master" copies sent, so none of the production versions were sent.
We DID discover a 12 second glitch in the final master of disc 1 after they were replicated. In order to keep the glitch (video goes black) from being a problem, we'll post the missing video on our website. Audio is still there. We're working with Eclipse to find out what happened, but it appears to be a replication issue.
