nVidia cards, CUDA, and digital output

I've tried to update to more recent drivers for my nVidia card in order to profit from Vegas' ability to use CUDA for rendering, but I have a slight problem. With any driver newer than 182.50, the driver switches the signal to my monitor to analog after Windows comes up (the signal is digital from boot until Windows starts). This didn't happen with the older drivers, so it must be a driver thing. Since I don't want to work with a blurry monitor, this has prevented me from updating the driver so that I can use CUDA in Vegas.

I'm posting here on the off-chance that someone else has had the same problem and knows of a solution that will force the driver to keep my monitor in digital mode after starting Windows. I've heard talk of registry entries that might fix it.

Has anyone else been in the same boat? When I tried the new driver, Vegas was 2.5 times faster at rendering, which was nice. But if I can't get the driver to output a digital signal instead of switching to analog, it's a no-go.

In case anyone is interested, the DevicesConnected entry in the Registry will fix this problem. Google for it and there are a couple of pages that describe how to use it. Once this parameter is added, you can force monitors to digital mode, allowing you to use the most recent drivers to enable CUDA for Vegas without sacrificing digital output to your monitor(s).

Thanks for the tip!

Now Vegas is telling me that no GPU is available. Quite a mystery because it worked the first time around! I don't know if it's Vegas or the driver. Also this is Vegas MS Platinum HD 11, which differs slightly from Pro in this respect.

The tip about forcing the monitor to stay digital still holds; that's working fine. But now I have to figure out why Vegas has decided to stop using the GPU.
