Probably because that board was released after Movie Studio 13 was developed. Are you having problems rendering?

Sony is either unwilling or unable to update its software to take advantage of the latest versions of Nvidia cards.

To get GPU acceleration with Nvidia cards you have to use 5XX series or earlier, or switch to AMD cards or perhaps use your CPU graphics (?), depending upon your chip. I have had some reasonable results with a 580 card with 4 GB memory (liquid cooled).

Some people have reported good results with two AMD 290 series cards, which is very expensive, hot and power hungry. Most Sony users don't get enough acceleration with any GPU to make it worth worrying with. Spending money on CPU upgrades is usually considered more worthwhile, but YMMV. With the CPU approach, the more MHz the better, but more MHz usually means more heat, so cooling becomes critical (liquid cooling).

If you are really concerned about making use of GPU acceleration there are several other editing products on the market that actually do make use of the video card's capabilities, but there are always trade-offs with any approach.

Hope this helps.

I have found it inpenetrable - Sony sells video cameras, software and all manner of high-tech stuff yet somehow we Buyers are left to fafv about trying to discover which card goes where?
It's really very poor - you'd think Nvidia and Sony were on different planets - surely there is a closer relation than that? Mutual advantage springs to mind - but no!
Bang heads.

I recall there was Sony Webinar ( 2014? ), where the usual presenter was taking his time explaining how good GPU acceleration was whilst his video was being rendered on a conventional PC - then reluctantly he started to render the movie WITH the GPU - and it overtook the 1st process - very fast indeed . . . . yet since then I've found it very hard work trying to match any version of Movie maker to a GPU-card . . . .
Bang Heads together, please.

Makes me wonder if GPU acceleration is really that good - could Sony be protecting us against false-hopes . . . .but why the Webinar results? Perhaps Sony should buy a GPU card for us to try? - one that allows Memory upgrade might be cool.

This Morning I removed graphic card from motherboard (Asus H97-pro) and try to use Movie Studio 13 with onboard graphic card, and wow! Gpu is available from i5 4440 (sandy bridge) as intel HD4600 and sony avc working with QSV (quick sinc video). I'm not an expert about benchmark and other but now video renderering is fast.
