Client wants clip from video project to include in PP presentation.
Is rendering to .wmv the way to go here?

Yes, WMV integrates into Power Point quite well.

Really, for maximum playability on a variety of machines (including older PCs and Macs), and with a minimum of stuttering or stalling, I still use MPEG-1 as my first-choice video format in Powerpoint presentations.

It looks fine, is universally playable, and is easy on resources, making it suitable for projection.
