Don't necessarily blame CDA5.
As previously mentioned, I had a LiteOn (26x ?) on one machine. Burning was fine, but the progress meter would only update while the mouse pointer was being moved across the meter window ! And finished CD would not eject until the same.
Changed to Pextor Premium, and al 'problems' gone. Same generic WinXP driver, no other changes to system or CDA5.
Go back to the LiteOn, same probelm returns....
I would say that this implies that the MMC implementation of the LiteOn firmware is incomplete or bugged. Or could it be CDA5's ? I would guess that the various problems that people have with various drives would imply that the drive firmware is the big variable.
