Odd Icon tooltip in VP12 Audio Header

Former user wrote on 10/21/2016, 5:33 PM

Today I happened to mouse over an icon (a blue square outline with a smaller blue square in it) on an audio track header and got an odd tooltip. Clicking the icon pops-up a prompt that states "Master (Microsoft Sound Mapper)" -- though I'm not sure how that relates to my setup. Note, the mouse arrow doesn't show up in the screen grab.

It appears to be Korean. I've tried to enhance it -- can anyone read it?

In VP13 and 14 I'm not seeing any tooltip for that control. Looks like it works with the button to the left of it.

Quitter wrote on 10/22/2016, 12:25 AM

have nearly the same tooltip: "Mast" and something chinese or korean 😏

Is supposed to be called Master-Bus

VP13 and VP14 too

I get the same tooltip as you for that icon in VP12, but no tooltip at all for that icon in VP13 or 14.

Thanks guys. At least someone else is seeing it ;-)

Lol.. yeah, I KNOW what the button does and how to use and assign audio busses...

Just DON'T know why there are Chinese letters. A simple font bug maybe? A memory allocation error maybe? Or an Easter Egg revealing the name of one of the developers?

I was talking to the OP.

Not likely a font bug. Probably some kind of bug in the code assigning the text value to that pop-up.

Yep. As I indicated in the OP, I know that it's the "Master (Microsoft Sound Mapper)" button, but like RedRob-CandlelightProdctns, I'm curious as to why it displays the characters that it does and if anyone else saw the same thing. I tried using the Google language convertor, but "Microsoft Sound Mapper" doesn't convert to even close to the same characters in Chinese. So, either it's another language or says something else... ;-)

Red Prince wrote on 3/18/2017, 5:06 PM

Why? Because it’s a bug.

And since it is a bug, I wouldn’t expect the Chinese text to necessarily be related to the English version. We can’t expect any logic behind a bug.

Well first it's "Probably some kind of bug..." 1 hour later it's "Because it’s a bug." -- that was quick.

Jeez, I was just curious is all.

Jeez, I was just curious is all.

And I was just trying to help you. In a foreign language at that. I apologize that my parents and teachers didn’t teach me English when I was a kid and that I misunderstood your question.

Next time, I’ll make sure to reply in my own language, so I won’t make any mistakes.

Dúfam, že to stačí. Alebo chceš, aby som padol na kolená a pokračoval v ospravedlňovaní?

Man -- you ARE agressive aren't you? And BTW, how are you so positive it's a bug? Are you a Magix programmer?

set wrote on 3/18/2017, 9:05 PM

hmm, different users have different 'text'....

Corrections: Unrecognized text character on my system... Probably this is more to Traditional Chinese characters (Rather than Simplified one). and by RedRob-CandlelightProdctns's screenshot, I currently able to recognize the middle character:

䆭 - Xuān

Have difficulty recognizing other characters due to extremely small size...

Pretty sure this is just a bug.

This old bug, believe it or not, is finally fixed in VEGAS Pro 15 build 216. 👍
