Odd occurrence when applying filters

Strange. Once before this happened about a week ago and I just wrote it off to something I must have done. I'm using version 3.0c. Now it happened again and I'm sure I didn't do anything to cause it. I use filters a lot. I frequently start with Levels. Then HSL and Color Balance.

Here's what is happening. I apply Levels at some typical spot along the timeline. I next go to first key frame and set the same settings, then hit the next key frame button which returns me to my selected frame, then on to the last key frame. So for starters the entire video has the same changes applied. I then do the same for HSL and Color Balance. What's strange is after I apply HSL and Color Balance, the Levels button totally disappears off the FX chain! The effect of the filter is still there, I can tell, but the button to control it is gone. So now I need to drag a new Levels filter and then mentally remeber the values and either add or substract them from anything I apply latter. Like I said, very strange. What's happening SoFo?

I have also lost filters in the filter chain, some days ago with VV3.0c, but I can't describe it as well as you.

I hope that SoFo will care to look at it.

Are you sure it's not just a case of the plug-in chain becoming long enough that it's "scrolling" off to the left? There's a pair of arrow buttons, to the left of the "Plug-In Chain..." button for scrolling them left and right.

If that's not the case, does it show up in the Plug-In Chain window? Is it listed with the other to the left of the keyframe rows?

Nope, that's not it. Its really weird. When it happens the button litteraly drops off the chain yet the effect of the filter remains. I was able to duplicate it once so far by using HSL first, then Color Balance. Maybe sliding down the timeline may have something to do with causing it. Specifically I dropped the HSL filter, set the first key frame, a couple along the way, then the last key frame. I then dropped the Color Balance doing the same thing. Everything fine. I use the scrub bar to go back to the start of the video and the Color Balance button disappeared again. The funny part is I repeated the experiment several times and couldn't duplicate it. If it happens again I'll save the file.

BillyBoy:

Are these track level or event level FX? I can't repro.

Also, again, does it show up in the Plug-In Chain window? Is it listed with the other to the left of the keyframe rows in the property page?

Event. I can't give you specific steps on how to reproduce it either. Only happened twice so far, so seems like a totally random thing. If I see it again I'll do a bunch of undos and see if repeating a string of steps can reproduce it.
