OHCi Compliant IEEE 1394 Video Input Cards

I am wondering if anyone has used the Dazzel DVClip Video editing cards with Vegas Video? We are a school and need inexpensive video capture cards to work with a variety of cameras, many Canon cameras and we want a reliable video capture card.

Are you capturing DV format? That is digital video as oppossed to older analog formats, 8mm, hi8, etc?

If you have canon DV cameras, you need nothing other than a firewire card. Vegas will transfer DV over any firewire card. It doesn't need to be a "video capture" card. Quality OHCI compliant firewire cards can be found from ADS or SIIG and they don't cost much.

Dazzle comes with software you don't need if you are using Vegas.
