OKAY...separate forums...now please (beta delta)

Will you provide answers as to the latest BETA delta 1010 driver and VA2.0 and VV3a in Win2k and WinXP?

Is 24-bit working correctly (true 24-bit wavefiles,...not 16-bit with added garbage bits) in vegas (or any MME apps) in XP or w2k?

There are those who say the APPLICATION (vegas) MUST USE "WaveFormatExtensible" for 24-bit to work.

As for the emails I recieved from maudio on the beta driver:
Maudio states that the new delta beta driver in XP the 24-bit issue is fixed. 24-bit is now wrriten in 3 word byte - but how can anyone test this?.

I and many users need confirmation here. I also fear that "w2k" is never going to provide 24-bit...(kmixer),
but as for "XP" not having this problem...I need confirmation that my 24-bit files are true 24-bit with XP. How can one test this 24-bit issue?

Is there a bit sniffer out there that can tell us?
Anyone have a way?
This is why I ask again.

Please respond?

thanks,
JoeD

This is true for WDM based drivers. Vegas, ACID and Forge(5.0 and greater) use WaveFormatExtensible.

Look at the raw data in a file created from recording audio from the MAudio hardware. You can get tools to dump "riff" files on the web. The Riff spec is also on the web so you can know what you are looking at.

Microsoft has a fix for the kmixer 24 bit problems in Win2000. No, I don't know when it will be released.

thanks for the clarifications.

I'm sure many w2k'rs will be relieved to here of the fix.
