Go to Options - Preferences and see how much RAM you have allocated for preview.

Originally I had it set to 100 MB RAM (I have like 191 MB available).

So I boosted it to 191 - but nada, nagada, noting - no change.

I find it terribly hard to believe that a 6 second clip would be over 100 MB (even uncompressed AVI).

I would test it again right now to see how much RAM i had available when doing the preview - but I'm rendering the finished (like anything is ever really finished) product and my processor is screaming at me. So I'll pick it up with testing later.

Thanks for the quick get back. Hopefully I'm just pulling a "Duh"! :-)

A REAL longshot, I posted prob with the new creative driver set I encountered - the errors I was getting were all related to no memory available or memory write errors.

I sort of remember that you have to leave 60mb for overhead - this could be totally off base, but give it a try and let us know...
also, if you have RAM "up the wazoo" how come only 191mb are avail?

Yeah...see - that's the other thing that I was wondering.

But I looked at VV when it loaded - and it took like a whopping 150 mb. So that only left me with a little of that which was rammed in the ole wazooo.

I think what has been happening is me gots a ton of crap running in the background just sucking RAM like it is a bottle of Boone's Farm bought at like buy 1 get 4 free day at Jay's Bar-B-Que and Beer store on the corner of 68th and Cottage!!

But the oddddd part is - I hadn't really made any more other modifications and was rendering longer previews to RAM last week.

Oh well....guess the PC just wan't to be lazy or somethin!!

Thanks for the get backs.
