One "fix" for render 'low on memory'

why not put yourself forward as a BETA tester? Actually, they contact you, not the other way around. I know because, at one point, I WAS a beta tester (version 5 & 6, I think). I also tried to provide strategic advice (having run three software companies, I thought I could help) and one of the major things I recommended was focusing on alliances with third party developers. The OFX interface, which I had forgotten to mention, took them six years to get to, and it appears to still have some bugs (instability) in it, but I'm sure they'll get it ironed out. As you attest in your post above, the ability to do these additional things via plugins makes the program much more compelling.

So, the short answer is that they have not asked me to beta test their products for a long, long time.

Oh, and one other interesting thing. I wrote in another thread about my desire to find a way to do "smart rendering" on AVCHD and that I was testing a series of programs, all of which failed to do the basic job on my CX700V footage. Well, even though I was just using the free trials, I sent an email to the support teams, and lo and behold I just got a very detailed email back from the VideoRedo people.

I am very impressed by the fact they responded to someone who hadn't yet purchased their product, and that they did so with someone who obviously knows the product intimately.

So, I am going to spend the next half hour re-installing the program and giving them a very thorough test case that will let them troubleshoot the problem. It is refreshing to know that there are still software companies that know how to play the game correctly.
