One mp4 video doesn't play or upload

I have one video that was rendered into mp4 and used the same settings I always do but this time I either get an error message when upoading to you tube or it appears to upload but doesn't do anything.

It is just this one video that does that. I tried rendering and uploading from another computer and it's the same thing.

The only thing I notice that is different in this video from the others is that when I right click on the file and look in properties and click on the details page the video and audio sections are blank. All my other videos this information is filled in.

It can't be the footage I used because I made a different video from the same footage that works just fine. It's just this ONE video that doesn't behave.

How can I fix this?

You can render it again.
You had a truncated or corrupt render. No mystery, it happens.

I have rendered it several times and on different computers. Always with the same result.

A few questions....

What version of Movie Studio?

Uploading from within MS or outside?

Please explain if more detail... different video from the same footage. Different render settings?

What render template? Customized?

Ok, I tried cut and pasting the video into a new movie studio instance. Woke up this morning to find the same thing. I can't play it on my computer or anywhere. I'm told the file type isn't supported yet all my other mp4 videos play just fine.

I'm using Sony Vegas movie studio HD 9.0

I'm trying to upload to you tube. Again you tube has accepted all my other mp4 videos with no problem. This one seems to upload but at the very end I'm told there's some error.

What I mean about different video from the same footage is that this footage is part of a larger video of two lectures. Jeremy and Steve. Both were filmed the same night on the same camera on the same sd card. Camera was turned on and off several times during the lectures resulting in several files which I then edited in Movie studio.

My footage of Jeremy's lecture edited, rendered and uploaded into youtube without a glitch. My footage of Steve is having this problem. No matter what I do it won't play anywhere, not even on my computer.

The only difference I can find on this video is when I right click on the file and look in Properties. I click the details tab and find that the video and audio information is blank. The other videos have this information filled in.

I have rendered this several times using the Sony AVC format (mp4. m2ts, avc) I used the internet template 1280 x 720 -25p. I have tried using some of the other internet template settings as well. They all do the same thing. I tried rendering it on a different computer and got the same thing.

All my other videos work just fine using these settings. It's just this one that doesn't work. The only thing I have left to try is to try again after I have upgraded my software. I have recently bought an upgrade but I have not finished with all the installations yet.

Please post screen shots of the render settings that you use for the failed video. Are they different than the ones for the render that works?

My footage of Steve is having this problem. No matter what I do it won't play anywhere, not even on my computer.

I assume you mean rendered video, correct.

It sound like there is some corruption in the original footage due to the cam being turned off and on.

Try rendering it to a .mpg file or other to see if it will play in the other formats.

What format does your cam record in? Posting the text view results from MediaInfo (a free download) of the bad footage may help us determine a resolution to your issue.

Yes, rendered video does not play.

It's possible there is a corruption but cannot see where it is as original footage plays just fine. The original was in Quicktime, MS told me I could not put quicktime video in the timeline so I converted it to windows media audio which I did for all footage made from this camera. So that detail is no different. I thought perhaps the converted footage was corrupted but again all of it plays on my computer.

I have a screenshot of the settings I'm rendering it into. will post that if I can.

The settings for this one is no different than the settings I used for all the other video destined for you tube. I used the same settings on all of them. I have a screenshot but not sure how to post it here.

I just tried rendering only half of it using the same settings. It rendered just fine and plays. I will try the other half and let you know what happens.
