One way to do Stutter Transition

I hope this is useful for someone. I looked around for how to do a stutter transition which causes the image to flicker quickly from one clip to another, often used for horror. Every tutorial I found involved taking little cuts and spacing them out. This seemed tedious, and had the disadvantage that now each clip was separate.

I figured out how to use Layer Dimensionality as shown:

This also has the advantage that once it is set up, you can save the FX Chain as a package and easily read it into another project.

Cheers, Richard

Could also do that with the crossfade transition using a transition envelope.

Simpler yet, keyframe the event opacity curve, although this one wouldn't be quite as easy to duplicate to other transitions.

Saw this and filed it away for future reference. Today I came across a situation where it was exactly what I needed. Thank you!

...And also ended up playing around with the other parameters of Layer Dimensionality. Very interesting!
