Opacity Problems: followup and warning!

This is a followup to my post a few days ago about inadvertant opacity envelop pull-down by 1-2%.

Here's another way to inadvertantly create an opacity pull-down:

Position the cursor on the time line. Mute or solo the video track. Use the left or right arrow key to move the cursor. The cursor won't move, because the Video Track Header is the active element on screen. But, since the Track Header is active, and only the opacity slider can move, you will have altered the opacity of the entire track.

It's very easy to do accidently, as I discovered. Make checking for opacity envelopes a "must do" before rendering your projects!

Yup, I do this all the time. Unfortunately, my script cannot actually check the track headers (that information is not available to the script). That is why you simply get a reminder dialog at the end of the script. I wish I could do better, but I'm limited by what Sony provides.

Requests have been put in to change the slider colour as soon as it drops below 100% but nothing yet ....

Hey, you've done well with the script. And the warning at the end is well placed.
It's just one of the program's negative "gottcha" features that, fortunately, is offset by the many many "oh wow!" features that make editing with Vegas a pleasure.

It would be nice, though, if Vegas 7 had a tool-bar icon that would allow opacity to be locked off unless called for.

Ultimate S 2.0 also has a way to check for opacity and you can set it to check for a certian tolerance ie: 1-2%
You can also audit for those other little anoying small gaps between clips to avoid the dredded black frame deal at the same time.
Both major PIA's if a final render has those gotcha's in it.
I run that Audit everytime before a final render, .....or is that my final final render...or my prefinal final render.
