OpenGL and annoying error messages, update failing

I just bought Vegas Pro 23 after using Movie Studio for more than 20 years. The paid version shows 2 error messages on startup, both complaining about lack of OpenGL. I'm running Windows 10 and have no GPU. Vegas runs fine after these complaints, so it's clear that I don't need OpenGL. But it's annoying... When I click on "check for updates" I get the same error, plus an "updater failed" message. So I can't check for updates. (And why would an update check require OpenGL?) The test program did NOT show this behavior. Oh, and GPU acceleration is Off in preferences.

Can you share a screenshot of the error message?

What's your CPU model?

I rebooted my computer, and the problem seems to have vanished. I suspect that there is still an underlying issue: when I click on "check for updates", which was causing the OpenGL error, the program pauses, dimming the display, but doesn't show any response.

So I can't get the error message again. I have seen it on many other posts with similar (but more disastrous) symptoms. I'm running an i7-9700 at 3.00GHz with 32Gb RAM. It's a Dell XPS 8930.

I'm glad it's working for you now. It's possible there's a driver issue and a removal and clean reinstall of the latest Dell NVIDIA driver could help.
