Opening in vegas DV Video without codec

I used to own a Pinnacle DV500 a few years back and used their DV2 Codec I believe when rendering a lot of old footage. Since then I have sold the card and moved on, but in revisiting this footage I find that I lack the footage to load the video in Vegas or view in Win. Meida Player. Is there any way to (since this is a hybrid codec requiring the card to be installed) view this footage or convert it to another format?

I tried first in the Pinnacle forums, but recieved no reply. SOrry, to bring it here, but everyone here is the best.

You might be able to hunt around in the Pinnacle support site and download the codec by itself. Maybe search their forums first ( I'd imagine others have run into this issue).

yeah...i kicked around their forums last night for a few hours and found that the codec was hybrid which requires the DV500 card to be present to install the codec, and I no longer have the card. I tried posting in their forum, but after half hour of trying get a post to stick I gave up and thought I'd ask the Vegas wizards.

A few ways -

You can download the web install, it is huge but you should be able to get the needed codec - http://www.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/dv500_40_free_webinstall.exe

If you want a nice little utiltity to convert between formats that also allows for Time Code extraction and 'offline' res TC insertion check out the DV Convertor at http://www.baobab.net/dvconvinfo.html. Free 30 day trial.

Also, Focus makes a DV Convertor as well. This used to be free for 'non-commercial" use but it seems to have changed. http://www.focusinfo.com/products/firestore/dvconversionsuite/dvsc.html
