Opening Movie Studios

Hi Everyone, hopefully a really simple question, I want to let my client do some off-lineing on his laptop (well I don't want to, but hey we all know what clients are like, eh), anyway can he just purchase Movie Studio 9 Platinum, do his off-lineing and then give me the project files, and does Vegas Pro 8 understand these project files. or will he need to buy Vegas Pro 8 as well.

Many Thanks

Matt

Vegas Pro will read the lesser versions but not vice versa. So you'll be good.

That's sort of what I presumed, thanks so much for the confirmation.

I *****THINK***** that you can't read a newer version of the lesser software. IE if VMS9 came out AFTER VP8, you can't read it. I'm not sure on that. I know my pay version of acid couldn't read the newer free version acid files.

Take care, Matt.

Lesser version does not only mean VMS to Full Vegas. It also means the version number - I have no experience with the very last versions - but I know for sure, that a Full Vegas 7.0 does not accept the files from Vegas Movie Studio 8.0.
If you have Full Vegas 8.0 you should tell your client to buy VMS(P) 8.0 - not 9.0.
