I don't belive there is an Mpeg-3 format. There's Mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg1-Layer 3 (audio only), and mpeg-4. No mpeg-3 video.

yep it is mpeg layer-3 , with a bit rate of 47kbps on audio, and video it is: 29frmaes/second and data rate of 117kbps...i think it is saved so i cannot edit that video...dont know

My guess is that it's a DivX encoded avi file with MP3 audio. You'll need the appropriate DivX codec installed to see the video track.

To the best of my knowledge, MPEG-3 is MP3.. audio only. I've never seen anything that offers to render to or from MPEG-3. This would explain your audio only problem As far as I know, Video can be rendered to MPEG-1, 2, and now 4.

Does this sound right?

Hmm,
so called MP3 is actually mpeg 1 layer 3. Work did start on mpeg3 but it was killed off by mpeg4 before they got the specs finalised.
