Optimize DVD!!!!!????

I have noticed alot of people are having the same problem as I am, but have yet to find a resolve to this!
I build the menus, insert the vid stream (well within size limits) with chapter points, insert the audio stream, and optimize dvd tells me that it is 200% over sized. I messed with the audio and vid settings, but to no avail.
I re-do the whole build, and this time when I insert the vid stream , optimize tells me that each chapter point is 3.9 gig, which would make me belive that it is calculating each motion button as the whole film. Sad thing is is that there are no motion buttons. I just used the text only option.
SO this time I use the old original build and deleted the original vid/ac3 stream, and insert a different encode of the same film. Optimize does not recognize that I deleted the orignal vid and audio and still has it listed in the assets of optimize along with the new file I inserted!!!
I dont get it!!! What the hell am I doing wrong! I really like the motion menus/buttons options,...but I am about to go back to DVDit!

I guess we wait for the fix and see if that helps.

Although it is hard for me to see exactly what you did from your description, I'll try to help. From what you seem to want to do, you should not need any update of DVDA. You should be able to do everything in the current version of it.

In case one, if you add the video stream, then generate chapter points, and then add the audio stream to your main video, you're actually going to get 2 copies of the video. That is because the chapter point links will point to an instance of your movie WITHOUT audio, while the main play item will have video and audio. (DVDA cannot combine media assets that have different audio streams.)

Here is what I'd suggest:
1. Drag in your video file onto the main menu. Navigate into it, and add the audio stream that should go with the video.
2. Set any chapter markers that you need if they're not already set.
3. Navigate back to the main menu.
4. Select the existing video link object, right-click on it and create a scene selection menu.

Now when you go to "File/Optimize DVD..." dialog, you should only see one instance of your video in the list, and the size that it takes. If the video/audio media was compliant, the size should be the total of the original video and audio files. (You'll also see the 2 menus you have (main and scene selection), and the size that each menu takes.)

SonicTony try this,

Repeat steps 1-4 but use a video file WITHOUT audio. Do NOT add audio. Then, see what happens ("File/Optimize DVD..." ).

It sounds like an issue that we are aware of. Please see the following post for a workaround:
