There's really not much you can do, short of the customary OS tweaks to speed things up. Biggest advantage of dual processors appears to be the ability to render on one open instance of Vegas, while editing on another. Like having two computers in one. Any application has to be optimized, - and it's apparently an expensive and arduous process to do so, in order to take advantage of the dual processor configuration. There's been a bit of discussion about this on these forums, so I suggest you do a search..

Thanks Jboy. I did the Forum search and got a lot of good tips. I'm hoping someone out there has some newer BIOS tips.

The first thing I noticed was how quickly this monster renders projects. It is three times faster at re4ndering than my old PC (1Ghz Pentium 11). Items that used to take an hour now take fifteen minutes!

I got it from www.alvio.com for about half of what a BOXX would cost. It has more goodies and higher end components, too. It took a week from order to my front door.

I've done the XPPro tweaks from www.videoguys.com and they made a noticeable difference.

Regards,
Steve

I had this motherboard with 2 1900MP chips and I had nothing but problems with the board. There is an ongoing problem with the 760MPX chipset. I even ordered the latest board revision and had problems like system rebooting for no reason, several crashes at odd times. I sold this board and I bought a board based on the Intel 845PE Chipset with a 2.53GHZ chip and i have had no problems. System is now rock solid. If you decide to keep the board... good luck and I hope it doesn't give you the headaches it gave me.

I haven't had that problem, thank God! The chipset is an AMD-762 with the 266MHz FSB. Did you get involved with changing BIOS settings?
