Original data code is lost

When I capture some clips from my Sony D8 Camcorder, use them in a video project, print it onto tape, afterwards the original data code (date & time the material was recorded) is changed. Instead of the original date & time, the date & time of print to tape is recorded.
When I do the same with Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio, the original data code is recorded as long as no transition is used.
I need that for archiving of video material. I capture 2 or 3 cassettes onto HD, then choose the scenes which I may need in future and use only these in my project.
When I later capture this "copy" scene detection does not work with vegas video because of the continous data code.

Sounds like it is working the way I would expect it to work. You are creating a NEW tape so it gets the time/date that it IS being recorded. To me, that sounds like correct behavior. I can see where things could get very confusing if it behaved differently.

You will see the same effect if you "copy" a tape via firewire from one minidv to another.

Is there any way to restore clip information when I later recapture the newly recorded tape, since there is no scene detection by video content in VV?

You could try either batch capture - setting the times you want to capture. Or you could try Scenalyzer Live which has an option for "optical scene detection" (although I don't know how well it works).

The only other alternative i know would be to print each segment out separately and stop the tape briefly between each segment.
