leslie, I hope you get the cheque before you punch them :-)
Of course, that could be another reason for punching them (because they tried to stiff you on the payment!!)

p.s.it's gone from the mid 30s (Celsius that is) last week to the low 20s this week.
I think I need the prozac because I'm getting depressed thinking about that cold white stuff coming before I know it :-(

i usually bill in 3 stages - shoot / post / delivery - never punch 'em before stage 1 ;-)

actually i usually like having the client around - first they can see where their money is going, second they have some 'ownership', even if it's organising the coffee, third, they usually always buy lunch!!!

we're still very wet here, though the sun's now showing regularly. i lit the combustion stove last night cause the temp fell dramatically, (it hasn't been used for a week or so), but today is glorious, almost t-shirt weather.

my sympathies, though we don't normally get snow, night temps can go down to -8, so i can associate with the cold.... that said, this years elec bill was a horror (1/4 = $700au), considering what little 'major' appliances we have...

anyway, you (and all you other canadians) stay warm - i usually start a render and warm my fingers by the vent hole on my pc - sort of killing two birds with one stone....
