Thanks Rory. Arrived safely.

"rightclick on your pics drag onto timeline and replace as a take"

Could you, or someone, explain how to use the two veggies in a little more detail. My brain is just a little bit confused!

I second that.
An explanation could prove to be an invaluable tutorial in using '3D motion'.
At the moment, I am completely confused.

There are 2 veg files

Copy and Past them in a new folder

1.3d cilinder [ with the cylinder like object]
2. the 3d comp with the 3d cilinder veg nested inside

Open the 3d comp veg …right click on the top track [level 2 and you will see ..[edit in vegas 3d cilinder] click on that
Then the cylinder type veg will open up with all the pieces in different colours

Import your pics or videos into this project
Click on the level or track you want to replace, this will now be active Right click onto the new imported media and drag on top the activated colour
You will see add as take ..click on that, and it will replace the colour media with your new imported media
Once you have replaced all your new media save and close the 3d cilinder veg

You will now have the updated 3d comp veg with the cylinder thing

also right click on the media and match aspect to get them all the same size

Hope this helps

Thanks for the instructions Rory. Tried on V9 64bit. Haven't got a clue how you did it - but it works beautifully! Thank you.
