No matter what kind of input that your monitor have, you only need one card to support it. If you choose other solution, you probably need to spend a lot of time to find adapter or even need a new VGA card. That is the meaning of News Release.

If users need multiple monitor (more than 2) support at one graphics card, they need to purchase workstation level of products (such FirePro or Quadro series).

why buy a several hundred card for mutlimonitor hookups when a cheap second card would do anyway? :D

Right. Unless you simply have no more card slots available, one can usually pick up satisfactory dual-port PCI VGA cards for about $25 each. Dual-port DVI cards are probably available in the $40 to $50 range. I've got room for 4 of those in my main desktop PC in addition to the dual-port card already in my AGP slot. Hmmmm imagine ... ten* 22" 1920x1080 monitors on my wall. Makes me dizzy!

*Well, ok, really only nine. Windows won't manage more than 9 monitors natively. So one of those ports would lie fallow.
