OT: A reality show about video editors

There's an article on the Digital Producer site titled
Can You Make the Cut? that will be featuring video editors competing against each other.

From the article:
"A reality TV show focused on the fine craft of digital video editing ? Yes. There will be. The Fuel Network, a 24 hour cable channel focused on action sports, will air Cut Masters, a TV show that pits video editors against each other to come up with the most insane, yet crafty video segments, on January 28, 2005."

Unfortunately they'll be using FCP :-(
Maybe Sony should become a sponsor and supply some Vegas suites?

well, they can't use vegas. Why? Simlpe. Becauce you don't want a show where the guys don't have to worry about crashes, lack of features, loading seperate programs to do other things.... It takes all the tension out of hte show.

:D

Exactly. They want drama and with Vegas, you get none of that. EVERYTHING works the way its supposed to and your mix is done in half the time. That makes for boring TV.

... and they probably have to come back week after week : everything would be tied up in 1/2 hour with Vegas : bad for the ratings ! lol !
