Hi
I don't want to ask this in the Acid forums because I want to see what video editors experience is when using this product.
My current project I had budgeted for royalty music but wasn't going to be able to use much as budget isn't high. I then started to notice the mention of Acid and Acid loops on this board. I did a bit of digging and downloaded Acid demo and Propellorheads Reason. I hadn't realised such programmes existed acctually ...
Anyway - Acid seems the logical one as its interface is so similar to Vegas.
Buuutttt.... A bit of playing around and it seems fairly foreign. How do you create the sounds that are looped (other than sampling in, etc?
I don't want an involved explanation of how Acid works, just interested whether others have decided to use it for video creation and how they found it to use? Someone also mentioned collections of loops to use in it. Are these easily available? Expensive? I'm also a guitar/bass player and have 4-5 guitars here that I could sample, but I don't necessarily want all guitar type sounds for tracks anyway. I have classical training in music from years ago and can sight read when playing, but this layour is nothing like a traditiional score.
Anyway - is it worth pursuing? What is the learning curve? (I found the Vegas learning curve very easy, but have not messed around with any music programmes at all). Where to find extras for it?
Cheers
