OT: Alternative to 3d Paint?

Yeah, I confess I do use 3d paint at times :)

I'm on this long term project where I need to highlight a certain area in a still photo...I just do it in 3d paint because it's so fast (20 seconds and I'm done) No tracking needed. Mostly drawing lines around things...simple stuff. It's just that 3d paint doesn't have much "shapes" to select from (think of MS word, Insert, the shapes)...double arrows, broken arrows, U-turns, etc.

I tried to look for add-ons to Paint 3d, but not to much avail. I don't need 3d-shapes, just plain 2d shapes with all different kinds of circles and lines...most notable a double arrow line for both ends. I know I can get png images, but I am looking for something that is already in the software.

Also with 3d paint, once you accept the changes made, you cannot go back an edit...a real pain.

Just curious if anyone is using something else too

@Julius_

Even though I am a Photoshop subscriber and also have Photoshop Elements 7 loaded, I still use mspaint.exe for that kind of quick illustration.

I haven't looked to see if it is still in Windows 11. If it's not, I'll try to lift it from an old Windows 3.1 image.

@john_dennis  ... Paint is still in Windows 11.

@Julius_  ... For many years, I've used Corel PaintShop Pro for such work. It can do double-ended arrowed lines, dotted lines and a few shapes:

Size and color are user selectable. Lines can be customised but I don't think that arrows can be added to the end of broken lines, but then I've never really tried that in the past. And I'm not sure about U-turns.

Corel PaintShop Pro, sometimes referred to as the poor man's PhotoShop, has a few packages and also has a free trial. In my part of the world, a Cyber Monday offer is still available.
