I went to Frye's and picked up the $149 "Pyro A/V Link".
That box will take just about any input to just about any out-put.
It will do A/D conversion on the fly so the Ulead Video sofwtare that comes with it will show the analog input and you can capture the scenes that you want. It connects to the FireWire port on your PC.
It will capture to AVI that I could easily drop in to Vegas MS and do the editing there. Most of the cheaper solutions seems to only capture to MPEG ...

Wait ...there is more:
I can capture my analog video straight in to Vegas as AVI.
It will use the Microsoft input device.
