By the standard, the limit is 15 feet. I've used 15 foot cables with no difficulties at all.

By experience, we've got a couple of runs where we spliced two 15' cables together with a F-F addapter. This is not recommended and you are supposed to use a repeater every 15'. However, the 30' runs seem to operate perfectly, at least for DV. If you were doing high speed networking then there might be some problems.

cool - looks like i'll get a 15'. any good places online to buy them? newegg.com is out of stock for 15'. i could go to best buy and pay $50 - NOT!

I got a bunch of generic 6' and 15' cables on ebay ranging from $3 to $6 each. No problems at all.
