OT: any problems with longer firewire cables?

i have a 6' firewire cable and it's too short for my setup. i was thinking of getting a 10' or even a 15'. has anyone used these longer cables with DV and are there any issues with using them?

By the standard, the limit is 15 feet. I've used 15 foot cables with no difficulties at all.

By experience, we've got a couple of runs where we spliced two 15' cables together with a F-F addapter. This is not recommended and you are supposed to use a repeater every 15'. However, the 30' runs seem to operate perfectly, at least for DV. If you were doing high speed networking then there might be some problems.

I got a bunch of generic 6' and 15' cables on ebay ranging from $3 to $6 each. No problems at all.
