Ok what am I missing, when I attemp to generate say a lower third, for example like in Ed Troxels T,Tand S vol1number 3.If I do it in My photoshop le program I just create a new image 655x480 w/ transparent backround, paint on the lower third (it only saves it as a *.PSD file) and then i import it into Vegas it shows the lower third fine with the backround checkerboard indicating transparent. alls fine.
if I do the same in PSP8 new image-655x480 backround transparent-paint on lwr thrd-
save as .png, bmp, tga. I alsway get the message that the file will be merged and then of course when I import it into Vegas the backround is white, I have tried changing the properties of the image/event alpha setting to premultplied ect but Im sure thats its the way Im exporting the file.
what step am I missing?

oops think I just answered my own question, found the setting png optimzer set for no transparency instead of alpha, but then do i have to save the file each time using the png optimizer?

You might want to save your graphics as Targa files with alpha channel. Some have noticed color drift with PNG files.

I don't have PhotoShop anymore, but once upon a time I reported that psd would work if created by PS and would not work if created by PSP.

If you are desparate, you can take a PSP created .psd > open it in PS > resave - and it should work fine in Vegas.
