Unfortunately yes, one of my clients requires cassette masters for duplication of educational programs, it's a pain but they pay. I record PCM to flashcard, edit in SF, then re-record on a Tascam 122 via Echo D/A.

Yes as well, I'm doing some audio work for the a government body Oral History unit and they require cassette copies as well as DAT and CD.
Why? Because their standards were written in the 90s and no-one there dares change them.

One of my regular customers is a small church I produce a radio program for. The raw audio comes to me on cassettes, so I keep a deck around for that.

They've been loyal customers for years and they always pay on time (without whining about the price), so I don't mind.

... plus the desirability of having the material on different media, and different FORMS of media (ie both digital and analogue).
