OT: Batch Processing Logos on Photos...

Any leads on a free or open source (or even cheap) program that will allow me to point the program to a folder and apply my logo to all the pictures in the folder?
I have Fireworks MX2004 and I have set up a batch script, but apparently I did not do it right or somewhere along the line it has broken and I can't seem to get the process right.
Anyways, if there is a product out there that specializes in this, please let me know. I have been taking action photos and instead of me placing my logo on them one by one, I would like to automate this as I am taking about 800 a night or so.

If you have Photoshop, you could set up an Action very quickly.

Yeah, I don't have photoshop. I am starting to kind of wish I liked working in Photoshop. Maybe I should just spend some time learning the batch processing capability of Fireworks. Thanks though Course.

I never could get the gimp to load properly on my system. It would always crash.

As for the other programs, surely there is a program that just does this. I do not need the other features, just a quick, simple, import pics, place logo w/ alpha overtop and output to new file utilizing a batch process. I guess when I get more time, I will work some more with the batch processing of Fireworks as I already own it.

Of course, if you need these pictures for use with Vegas, just put the logo on another track, set the alpha correctly, and the job is done.

But you already know that, so I guess you are trying to do something else ...

Actually, if you really want JPG images, you might be able to use the Render Image Sequence script. Just import all your pictures on the Vegas timeline. Set the project properties to the same resolution as the images. Overlay your logo on the upper track. Then set the parameters on the image sequence script so you only get one image from each image event. Haven't tried it, but it should work.

That sounds like something worth trying. The only thing is, I take anywhere from 400-900 pictures a night (and will be doing so for the next 2 weeks) and they are over 4 megs a piece. So, for me to use this, I would have to cut it up into sections and do it, which if it works, then I wouldn't mind so much setting them up 50-100 at a time and letting it render out.
As for the Render Image Sequence Script- I will do a search and see if I can find it and give it a shot this weekend.

Irfanview might help you. I once used the tool to add a date graphic box to all pictures in a folder. Don't remember if this was a graphic overlay or what, but it did process an entire folder of pictures.

The render image sequence comes with Vegas and will be in the default script folder on your hard disk.
