This is only a good buy if they are Taiyo Yuden TYG02. When you go to the store feel the bottom edge of the package. Japanese made Fuji media usually have a corrugated edge rather than a smooth one. Alternatively you could just read the package to see if it says Made in Japan. If it is, it will be Taiyo Yuden TYG02. If it says Made in Taiwan, don't buy it. If you don't have a Best Buy near you don't take the chance.

HOLY COW!!!

John, you are the man! Lately, I have been plagued with DVD burning problems where my burned disks are stuttering and freezing at the end of a movie on a full disk. This was driving me crazy as I couldn’t figure out what it was. Now, thanks to you, the mystery is solved!

I purchased two sets of Fujifilm DVD’s from my local BJ’s. I have always bought the cakebox DVD-R and never had any problems, but this time I saw a package of 25 Fujifilm that included the plastic cases. I had a short run of DVD’s to make so I thought I would try them. After all, Fujifilm has always been great. That’s when I started having problems but I could never figure it out. I tried burning at 2X, tried a different burner, I was just puzzled at what the problem could possible be. (until now) :-D

Little did I known the cakebox Fujifilm that always worked flawlessly are Made in Japan. When I loaded them into Nero CD-DVD Speed they are TYG02. The Fujifilm with the plastic case are Made in Taiwan and show up as ProdiscF01 in Nero.

I don’t know how to thank you enough. I guess I was naive to all this DVD source stuff. This just turned into a very good day for me. I now know what my problem is and will use the remaining few ProdiscF01’s for short projects (so as not to approach the edge of the disc) or for data backup. Thank you so much for pointing out the difference in Fujifilm discs.
