OT: Best way to create self starting DVD

Cliff Etzel wrote on 2/10/2009, 7:35 AM
I have a project that is to be burned to DVD - all I need is to have my timeline content burned to a self starting DVD with no menus, etc.

I don't see an option to burn the timeline to DVD as I've seen in Premiere Pro - I have used the VASST Prepare for DVD script and created the .mpg and ac-3 file - but I'm not sure what to do with them

I have DVDA, but all I really want is to have the viewer put the DVD into their player, and have it start without their intervention.

What am I missing here - if anything??

Two options. If your completed video files are less than 1GB you can make the video be the background media for the initial menu page. If it's larger than 1GB look for a menu option to create a "single play" (or something similar to that) disc. That creates exactly what you are asking for.

Click Insert Object and choose Introduction media - whatever you select will autoplay. Then just give it a Stop end action (or repeat). You might want to build a menu anyway, which is what it would move to after it autoplays.

HTH

Unless I'm missing something. Go to file, new, single movie, import file. burn dvd. It will auto start.

You are not missing anything. Just use DVDA and chose new & single movie. Print to a DVD and it will indeed autostart. I've been doing this since DVDA 2 or 3.
