OT: Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts

Today, I was the lucky (?) recipient of a "like new" Panasonic WJ-AV5 production switcher. Of course, there's no manual provided. When it's free...what can you say!

I'm not sure what I'll use it for...we have a WJ-MX50 that's rarely used. But I am curious. It looks to be some 10 to 15 years old. Is this a quality piece of equipment? Does it pass a full 640x480 signal? If it's worthwhile, I may pass it along to a church or school.

Anyone have the "poop" on it?

Thanks!

Panasonic manual lookup for commercial hardware.

might be in there.

If it's a digital mixer (wjave55 is the closest thing in model number), that's a neat toy. Not really useful in vegas, it's for live things. Personally I wouldn't mind one, could be useful to have. :D

Could it actually be a http://www.kosmopilot.tmt.de/austausch/_AV5_manual.pdfWJ-AVE5[/link]?

If you don't want it let me know, my church needs to replace their projector mixer.
Try it with NTSC then IM my name above.

Sweet. 20 or 25 years ago I would have given my left nut for one of these. Today, I reflect on how impetuous I was then....
