I think it's so cheap because it's the older generation that still had HD-DVD, but hell, it's new and at that price, a great offer. I have the newer one, which doesn't have HD-DVD, and so far it has worked great, since December, purchased at the now RIP Circuit City [insert weeping here].

That's the drive I have - almost a year now - works great. Think I paid 229 with free shipping and 2 LG DVD-REs included and some software that plays Bluray discs etc.

It's oem and I think that means it does not include the software that would allow it to play BD's. They are good drives and play HD dvd which can be had cheaply but how much will it cost for something that will play the media.
