OT: budget wireless Lav help request

I don't normally have a need for a wireless lav, but I'm coming up on a project that is probably going to require the use of one at a tradeshow I will be attending and need some help.

I'm looking at one of the Audio-Technica Pro 88W but I'm confused as to which one to purchase. It seems they come in several frequency ranges and I'm not sure which one to select. I need a basic setup for interviews and man on the street type shots.

Any advice on which one would work for me???

There's a frequency selection application on the AT web site.
Only thing is it doesn't seem to cover the series you're interested in. Could be because it's VHF which in general isn't considered to be a good choice these days.
We got rid of our VHF stuff a long time ago.
If you only need this for a one off I'd suggest renting a good UHF system.

That setup should be fine for your purposes unless you or the talent will be moving around a lot. VHF is more prone to interference, but users don't seem to complain about the Pro88 very much at all. I would get it with the AT830 lav instead. It is a very good lav. G&G Technologies has it for $155. I have dealt with them many times and they are as trustworthy as B&H.

Guy Bruner (a Vegas user) did a review of the Pro88 on his website.

Equipment Emporium has an article called Improving the performance of Audio Technica Pro88 Wireless that you may want to read.
