OT - but still about Sony gear

I have two laptop Vaio computers with the Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5500 processor. In the Device Manager window I can see two CPUs but in the Task Manager/Performance I only see one.

CPU-Z.exe says that there should be two cores, but it only reports one the performance of one.

Shouldn't I be seeing the two cores on the performance display ?

In the Device Manager under "View" you might need to select "CPU History" > "One Graph per CPU" instead of "One Graph, All CPU's"
