OT?: Calling all pros: Pre-Construction video

Looking for a little insight on this. What is good? Should I plot my points on a map so I cam come back next year and shoot from the same locations? Does this matter as long as you shoot similarly? I would like to use my smartphone to record my gps location (maybe even attach the phone to the camera to document which way that I am panning-this would take a little synching-starting the compass-recorder at the same time as hitting record. or just having someone document. Anyone done this much? Any Ideas?

The Panascout application would work if you had an I-phone, but of course not everyone does. There are other still cameras that do this too.

I think I'd still try to mark the spot since a GPS isn't that accurate.

Recent phones use Assisted GPS, and the accuracy is generally pretty astounding.

Also you may have a problem with framing the initial footage to match the size of the finished structure (assuming you don't want to "adjust" the camera angle as the project progresses)
