OT: Cinemagraphs

This is my first "cinemagraph":

I want to do this at higher quality. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to use it yet, but I know somehow these are going to find a way into my Vegas workflow.

You made me Wiki cinemagraphs, hadn't a clue what they were. Now that I know what they are great job Sir! Especially like the color in the first one.

I never knew there's a fancy name for animated gifs. I always wished there was a program that could easily convert video into them, without messing about frame-by-frame in Adobe ImageReady or whatever. How did you make them Laurence?

I used an iPad App called "Cinemagram". It works nicely and is pretty fast and easy. I just wish it would do higher resolution. As compared to regular animated gifts, cinemagraphs tend to be higher resolution overall, bit only have a small portion animated. Usually the motion either loops from a common frame or back and forth.
