Hey guys,
Ready to show off my wonderful Vegas creations on the "big screen" (via DVD) I got a LCD projector for picture, and DVD player for play -
Now i just need a good sound solution.

What i am curious about - how/could i hook up my computer speakers to my DVD player?

Have a decent set of altec langsing speaker i would like to use.
My DVD player has RCA cables out - but don't speakers have RCA input..
But. LCD projector does... LCD also has a headphones out jack.

would it be possible to plug the cable from the speakers into the headphones
out jack into speakers?

Clueless when it comes to impedence and all that other jazz.. really don't wanna blow anything up, so some help would be appreciated

thanks

The headphone output should work fine. If you have a volume control for the headphone jack then set it to about half. If you don't have one, expect the output to be louder than you expect. It may even distort some even with the speakers' volume control set low. This won't hurt anything in the slightest, and it may work perfectly fine without distortion.

Radio Shack used to sell an adapter that would let you connect the 1/8" stereo plug to a pair of RCA jacks. I can't find it in their website catalog, but it may still be in the stores.
