Ultra 2 (Serious Magic) has it's own forum which is full of very knowledgeable people who could give you the right answer.

It probably means that Ultra was enumerating through all of the video codecs on your PC as it initializes itself to see what it has to work with and the CineForm codec complained that it was a trial that had expired so that Ultra doesn’t include is as valid option.

If the Connect HD CineForm codec has expired, I would buy it or uninstall it. I believe that uninstalling the CineForm codec that comes with Connect HD will make CineForm codec that comes with Vegas work again (they are two different codecs, one is DirectShow and the other is VFW)

JR expressed it well. And if you visit the Serious Magic forums, mention what a PITA it is to not only have the codec enumerated, but that the error message is always hidden beneath the Ultra splash screen.

Thanks all, yes DSE that tok some time to realize what was happening.
Dont know why I'm bothering with these exotic trials tho' there is at least years of work editing just the hours and hours of familty and holiday footage, lol
