Howdy...

Here's a link to a fun review of Bodelin's $50 GO! Prompter. The review is on a video podcast that reviews different products every week...

For the money, it's a useful little gadget...

Best,

Benjamin

hey Benjamin, great video as usual... mind letting me know what titler you use for the intro titles? is it bluff, or something different? very professional look...

(tip: try making proxus player light bar blue vs default green, as in winningchartpatterns.com videos etc, that looks a bit better imho)

Hi, Ken...

Yes, all of our titles are made with Bluff. What a fantastic program!

thanks Benjamin, appreciate it... your site is a great example of the "future of the internet", in my considered opinion, eg micro-channel broadcasting (like tikibartv.com) ... excellent work on your programs, they're interesting and well-produced.

I don't know what I was expecting for $50 bucks, but a hot shoe mounted clip board? My "I could make something more useful that that" alarm went off immediately. Besides, I have a proprietary Sony shoe...D'oh!

Nice video though. Well done. I really like the player and its ability to drag the scroll bar while seeing frames zip by.

I like the vid, but didn't agree with your rating on the "teleprompter" or more accurately, the "grease-prompter."
You're doing a great job editing the segments, and I very much like your persona on the screen.

Being a devoted and original member of the nosey-parker club & qualified gadgie-addie, every London Monday morning my sweaty little fingers pummell the keyboard in anticipation for your Neo-Freeeeak! . . Love it Ben AND Tiffany.

I DO appreciate your candour on stuff. And the way you go into some detail on they way you do. The "Laptop" bag article - with your "attention" to detail - made me feel less guilty about my own - errhhhmmm ? - "pulling" n "pushing" I do when I go to Gizmos-R-Us type places.! There you go! Tiff 'n Ben are doing it for me!!!

Don't take ANY notice of Douglas - he makes his own sound boxes - LARF!!! Have you seen his video? Do see it - brilliant!! I'm telling yah.

Keep it up peeps!

Best regards,

Grazie

I too love the show, extremely well done but I gotta agree with DSE about that prompter gadget. I've seen them before and I kinda thought, OK, I can fit about 10 words on that thing and if the talent can't remember 10 words we're in serious trouble.

However all is not lost, just spay them matte black and use it as a poor mans french flag, hey hang on, I've seen the same thing sold as just that, or use it as a cutter. So as a general purpose bit of grip gear then they've got their uses.

Ben, I love the show. I have to agree with the others also. While I’m watching this one I’m thinking, they said you have to get back far enough from the camera so that your eyes don’t look like they are peering off to the side. At that distance, how big does the writing need to be so you can still see it and how many words at that size can fit on the little clipboard? I thought it was an extremely limited use device if you need to read your lines (unless they are very short lines).

What it would be good for is speaking points. i.e., three or four big bullets on the points you want to make during your monolog so that you don’t forget to touch on each point. I do this all the time. I use a backlight stand with the copy taped to the top of it and positioned directly below the camera lens (my camera is always locked down). It think it looks more natural to occasionally look down than look to the side. Anyway, that device would be useful for speaking points but little else.

Keep up the good work.

The prompter looks suspiciously like the "FlareBuster" with a clipboard instead of the flag.

Thanks for all the great replies... I appreciate all the comments..

Call me crazy, but starting July 10th, we're switching to a DAILY show, so if you think you can keep up, come and watch :-)

You have done a fine job with your broadcast Ben. I downloaded and watched an H264 version. It looked really good.

I noticed that you used a frame rate of only 20 fps for the H264. Do you try to limit the motion within your broadcasts so that framerate will work well? I didn't notice any jerkiness at all.
